Thanks ZUN for creating such an adorable character
The Touhou Project (東方Project, Tōhō Purojekuto), also known as Toho Project or Project Shrine Maiden, is a Japanese dojin game series focused on bullet hell shooters made by the one-man developer Team Shanghai Alice, whose sole member, known as ZUN, is responsible for all the graphics, music, and programming for the most part.
The Touhou Project began in 1996 with the release of the first game, Highly Responsive to Prayers, developed by the group Amusement Makers for the Japanese NEC PC-9801 series of computers. The next four Touhou games released between August 1997 and December 1998 also were released on the NEC PC-9801.
The Touhou Project was inactive for the next three and half years until the first Microsoft Windows Touhou game, The Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, was released in August 2002 solely by ZUN after he split from Amusement Makers and started Team Shanghai Alice.
Touhou Project became a media franchise spanning a steadily increasing number of official games, in addition to commercial fan books, light novels, and manga. (from wikipedia)
Now lets begin with the review…
Since the box is nowhere to be found, let’s skip that boring part and get to the point of this review :3, what does a box worth anyway, they’ll just get in the way XD
all the box contents
射命丸 文 (Shameimaru Aya) is a Karasu Tengu who controls winds, that’s why she’s well equipped with these parts:
1. Crow as her familiar
2. Spare hands
3. Spare face plates
4. tengu fan
6. figma stand
7. extra stand for the crow
8. 2 extrs little stands for her
9/ 1 pin for the wing
Lets start with her crow and her stand ….. 😀
Just like the other Figmas, who generously provide us with extra stand, there’s no difference between the normal and the extra stand, it works the same way, looks the same way, bend, moved, nudged everything :3
One of the plus side from Aya’s Figma is the details, as you can see, the crows sculpted and painted beautifully despite it’s tiny size. Next comes the basic of every Figmas, the faceplates :D. Aya gets 3 faceplates (feeling generous, aren’t you Max? :D)
The first one is the regular, factory released faceplate, the smiling face
Next comes the happy face!
lastly her, I don’t know, “Zannen” face?
This one is beautifully crafted painted and it seriously contagious to one of our admins, Signum, who were now writing this biased line (and also responsible for
the crappy translations too :D), but really, this faceplate is the best out of the three, imo. Probably one of the best faceplate Figma ever released
Next is the interesting part of the Figma (to me especially XD) which is the wings!
Aya’s wings is made of translucent part with a gradation of black-purpleish just like Hayate’s from Nanoha series, this color depicts the crow tengu aura of her and the result, it looks dashing~ the only problem is how to attach this wings =3=
What you got to do at first is to snap the stand peg to the hole in her wings. Alright, Aya looks fabulous with the wings, but what if you want to pose her outside, but you’re not having-to-carry-your-Figma-stands around kind of guy (like me XD)? It’s going to be troublesome to assemble it all again and again and again whenever you wished to take her pictures with her wings intact
but don’t worry, everything has it own solution (don’t resort to suicide though :3)
that’s why there’s this extra pin :3
Take the pin to the wings pinhole and attach it the way you’ll attach it to the base, and, VOILA! we have winged Aya without the need of her stand XD (let’s cast aside the stand shall we?)
It is NOT Figma if you don’t get any accessory, same goes to Aya, Aya gets 3 pieces of accessories, which is interesting like all Figma accessory does.
My favorite Tengu fan, a fan shaped in Momiji leaf which Tengu always carry around
Pen and note book, the gadgets every journalist must haves! (FYI, you can separate the notebook but the pen is permanently attached to the hand)
Last but not least is a pocket camera, which unfortunately permanently attached to the hand too.
Look at her pocket (not her rack, perverts =3=).. the pen on her pocket is also painted with lots of details, excellent.
The only thing I found to be her weakness is the shape of her geta
Looking at this, no wonder if it makes you think it’ll be one hell of a time making Aya stand on her own, simply put, a living hell (it’s possible though, but it’ll going to test your patient and probably you need to conquer the hell to do so :3. What if (again) we’re not your stand-carrying kind of guy? (and again, like me :D)
Once again, Max comes to the rescue!
surprise surprise!! 😀
A little peg is included, it is a perfect fit on her geta giving her the ability to stand without her stand just fine. (no pun intended :3)
Now, to rate this beautiful Figma :3
